Discord timestamp generator

Offer up to three times in one message · every reader sees their own time zone · all Discord timestamp formats

A Discord timestamp like <t:1792083600:F> shows each person the same moment in their own time zone. Pick up to three times below and copy the message: that is the courtesy format online leagues use to schedule a game without the "is that CET or BST?" thread.

What a Discord timestamp is

Discord renders <t:UNIX:STYLE> inside any message. UNIX is Unix epoch time: the number of seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC. It does not carry a time zone, which is the whole point: Discord converts it for each reader using their device's clock and locale. STYLE is one letter from the table above; leave it out and you get the short date and time.

You cannot type a timestamp with slash commands on most servers, and Discord's built-in picker is limited to events. A generator like this one does the epoch arithmetic for you and keeps the snippet exact. The R relative style ("in 2 days", "3 hours ago") updates live, which makes it ideal next to a fixed time.

For online leagues

Offering three times for a Tabletop Simulator game

Online Warhammer 40,000 leagues and team events played on Tabletop Simulator run across every time zone in the world. The convention that keeps them moving: when you get paired, message your opponent three times you can play, as Discord timestamps, and let them pick one. No "7pm my time", no converting, no missed games because someone assumed daylight saving.

  1. Pick three slots in your own zone Spread them across different days or evenings if you can; it makes a yes far more likely.
  2. Copy the message and send it Your opponent sees each slot in their zone, with "in 2 days" next to it.
  3. Confirm the one they pick Reply with that single timestamp so both sides have the same moment pinned in the thread.

If your team runs its pairings in 40K Team Forge, the Times page in the app does the same thing and can assign the three offered times to your paired game. The results table then lists them under the game, with a one-click confirm once the opponent answers, so the captain sees the whole team's schedule in one place.

Questions

FAQ

What is a Discord timestamp?

A snippet of the form <t:1792083600:F>: Unix epoch seconds plus a style letter. Discord renders it in every reader's own time zone and language, so one message works for a team spread across Europe, the Americas and Australia.

What are the Discord timestamp formats?

t short time, T long time, d short date, D long date, f short date and time, F long date and time with weekday, R relative ("in 2 days"). The full table with live examples is above.

How do I convert a time to a Discord timestamp?

Pick the time in your own zone in the generator. It converts it to epoch seconds and wraps it as <t:epoch:style>. Paste the snippet into any message; Discord renders it when the message is sent. The epoch number for option 1 is shown in the formats table.

Why does the timestamp look wrong in my message box?

It is rendered only after you send. In the composer you see the raw <t:…> text, which is normal.

Do I need an account?

No. The generator is free with no sign-up and nothing leaves your browser. Signing in to 40K Team Forge adds one thing: filing the offered times on a paired game in your team's matchup matrix.
